Your information
Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
Ambient is designed to help you complete work on your computer while keeping you informed and in control. This policy explains what information Ambient handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider, and account identifiers.
- Content you choose to provide, including prompts, messages, selected files, images, transcripts, project context, and feedback.
- Device and service information, including application version, operating system, IP address, diagnostic events, model usage, and security or spend receipts.
- Subscription information from our payment provider, such as plan, customer identifier, payment status, and renewal state. Ambient does not receive your complete card number.
Google sign-in
Google is used only to establish your identity and sign you in. Ambient requests the basic OpenID Connect profile and email scopes needed for authentication.
Signing in does not by itself give Ambient permission to read Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or to take actions in those services. A separate, explicit connection and permission screen would be required before any optional integration could access another Google service.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts and devices, provide requested features, maintain conversations and project continuity, execute user-approved actions, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, diagnose failures, improve reliability, and communicate about the service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your prompts, files, or private project content for targeted advertising.
Local and cloud processing
Some Ambient features operate locally on your device. When cloud processing is needed, the information required to perform your request may be transmitted securely to our service providers. Ambient is designed to send bounded task context rather than unrestricted access to your computer.
Operating-system permissions and in-product approval controls determine what Ambient can observe or change. You can revoke operating-system permissions at any time.
Service providers
We use vendors that help operate Ambient, including Supabase for authentication and account data, Amazon Web Services for cloud infrastructure and security controls, OpenAI or AWS-hosted model providers for requested AI processing, Stripe for payments, and Vercel for the public website.
Providers process information under their own contractual and security obligations. We limit the information shared to what is reasonably needed for the service being provided.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and service information while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for security, billing, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or backup recovery. Retention varies by data type and purpose.
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting privacy@ambientexe.com. Some records may be retained where required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including encrypted transport, protected credentials, device-bound sessions, access controls, and monitoring. No system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, email account, Google account, and Ambient credentials.
Your choices and rights
You can sign out, revoke Google sign-in access, disable operating-system permissions, disconnect optional integrations, manage your subscription, and request deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Children
Ambient is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
International use
Ambient and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have different data-protection laws from your home jurisdiction.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Ambient evolves. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the product or account email.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@ambientexe.com.
